BAMEX 2026, which has become an international meeting point for the defense and security sector, will be held in Mali on November 9–13

First held last year with Turkish companies, the exhibition goes international this year, with ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, Baykar and Skydagger joined by participants from China and Germany

BAMEX 2026, one of Africa’s leading defense and security events, will take place on November 9–13 in Bamako, the capital of Mali.

Organized by the Turkish company The Peak Defense under the auspices of Mali’s Presidency and Ministry of Defense, BAMEX 2026 will be held at the Bamako Exhibition and Show Center (FEBAK).

BAMEX was launched last year with the participation of Turkish defense companies. This year it expands with international participation: in addition to Türkiye, defense firms from China, Germany, Sudan and other countries will exhibit.

Representatives of Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) will also attend.

A wide range of defense and security technologies will be on display. One of the event’s highlights, the Demo Day program, will give exhibitors the chance to demonstrate their products and systems live in the field. Military and official delegations will be able to examine the technologies at the stands and observe their performance firsthand.

High-level military and official delegations from more than 40 African countries are expected to attend. Türkiye will be represented by more than 20 defense companies, including Baykar, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, Skydagger and Prontaron Savunma, along with the Presidency of Defense Industries.

Potential areas of cooperation

Held at a time when the Sahel’s evolving defense and security needs are drawing growing international attention, BAMEX 2026 will bring together defense technologies from different countries and the needs of the region on a single platform.

The security requirements of the Sahel, where Mali is located, are a key factor behind the event’s strategic importance. Regional needs in counterterrorism, border security, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, communications and unmanned systems present potential areas of cooperation for defense manufacturers.

Unmanned aerial vehicles and counter-drone systems, electro-optical and surveillance technologies, tactical communications and border security systems, armored land vehicles, weapons and ammunition systems, and personal protective equipment are expected to be in the spotlight at the exhibition.
